Some Practical Applications

#1: Living Your Own Life

God's Name: AHYH Asr Ahyh

It means: I Will be what I will be.

But you can also expand that a bit...and each of these are perfectly valid:

PRACTICAL APPLICATION #1: God's Name, I Will Be What I Will Be, is the key to unlock all knowledge of the universe, and all of your own personal power.

Look, let's be honest with ourselves.  "Political correctness" is the ice cube on the tip of the iceberg.  

I could go on and on, but you can fill in the blanks with your own examples.

GOD HAS A NAME.

THAT NAME IS A KEY TO ALL UNDERSTANDING.  Accept that as faith or ignore it, that's your choice.

IT MEANS, in part, YOU CAN RUN YOUR OWN LIFE!

You can dress as YOU choose....you are free to break the shackles of "fashion" any time you choose...thought, feelings, LIFE IS YOURS!!!!!

Look, let's get real practical, shall we?

1. We've established the Fruit of the Spirit within you.
2. One of the aspects of that presence is Self-Control, which is just another way of saying You Will Be What You Want To Be....in other words, YOU can CONTROL YOU!!!!!  (p.s. Really think about that...I have found that ONE single idea will change your life.)
3. So, learn the power of The Name within you...Learn that you can have whatever type of day you want.  
4. Oh, I'm not talking about any kind of "magic", where you can control the outside world...The Name promises only that YOU will be what YOU will to be, not the outside world. 
5. In other words, the outside world will do what it will....you can control less of it than you probably think you can.  But you CAN CONTROL HOW YOU REACT TO IT.
6. That is both a promise and a fact.
7. Start simple...give yourself "little exercises" daily...don't start-off thinking you can lose your job and simply go "ho-hum."  Like any talent, Self-Control and Living-Through-the-Power-of-The-Name-Within-You is not automatic or natural...I will spare you the discussion of all the forces (from even before our birth) that seek to squelch this innate ability...But the essential point is that This Power Is REAL.
8. It will take some time to get your health back, like being bed-ridden for months....But you WILL get healthier, and we will be here to help.  Another promise.
9. But every single situation you encounter in every single day is an opportunity to prove to yourself that The Name is real, and you really can choose each of your reactions to the outside world.

#2: How You Live Your Life

The PRACTICAL IDEA for your life I wish to focus on here takes the notion of Self-Control and extends it a bit.

Look, a bit of philosophy, but think about this:

1. We are told in the Bible we Live, Move, and EXIST inside of YHWH (Acts 17:28.)
2. We know (hopefully by now) that God's Name means I Will Be What I Will to Be.
3. 1+2=3; simply put, EVERYTHING we see and experience, existing as it does inside of God, Reflects the truth of I + Will = Being.

That simple, that profound.

That amazing.

And that PRACTICAL.

Look around you.  I mean right now, just take a look around.  Since you live inside of God, do you have any concept that each and every thing you see is a manifestation or extension of the principal that I + Will = Being?

True.

And practical.

The stapler on my desk is there because I WILL IT TO BE THERE.  

The red floppy disk on my desk is there because I WILL IT TO BE THERE.

The cats I live with are present only because I WILL THEM TO BE IN THIS HOUSE.

And it goes further...much further...your wardrobe, book and record collection, cleanliness (or lack thereof) is a TANGIBLE, MATERIALIZED expression of God's Name.  And it's so 70's, but that just BLOWS MY MIND!!!!!

I + Will = Being.

"I" means YOU, the inner YOU, the REAL you....thoughts change, memories change, your body changes, yet there is an inner "you" that in Christianity we call the Spirit, which never changes.  

Your inner, eternal "I" has Will.  I laugh (and cry a little) at the weight loss and smoking support groups and substance abuse groups who advertise...."It's not your fault...It's NOT A MATTER OF WILLPOWER."

Folks, I will tell you one fact.

The ONE and ONLY FORCE you have in life, the SOLITARY ENERGY you have available by which you can accomplish anything, is WILL POWER.  Not just what you "want", for Will is much higher than want...Your eternal self, the Spirit within, has one primary attribute: Will.

The "I" is the "Male-Principle".  The "Will" is the "Female-Principle."  Together, THEY CREATE YOUR UNIVERSE.

Enough philosophy and background.

Back to reality.  Practicality.

Your house is the way it is, your car the way it is, and so forth endlessly, AS A MANIFESTATION OF GOD'S NAME!!!!!!!

All of your surroundings are there because you WILL THEM TO BE THERE.  Your "I" has WILLed then to BE there.  Big and small. 

This even pertains to personal relationships...you keep the people around you which you have WILLED to.  (Please, we are illustrating a point here....we are not addressing morality at present, or the need for parents to care for their children, etc...Yes, those matters pertain, but we are trying to stay relatively simple and practical.)

YOUR LIFE IS THE WAY IT IS BECAUSE YOU WILL IT TO BE SO.

And You can change it!  (Again, laying aside the morality of children, commitments, etc.....I can't cover every subject every time.)  Just as I Will Be manifests itself in the soul as the Fruit of the Spirit, where it is there called Self-Control, it shows itself in your life in granting you the ability to have Control over certain aspects of your little section of the world.

Should you choose, you can sit in front of a TV 24 hours a day absorbing and analyzing every tiny nuance....But think......Think about this....You ARE NOT FORCED to turn the radio or TV ON...The fact is, (and this will sound a little "out there" until you think about it for a while) YOU CREATE YOUR WORLD, to a GREATER EXTENT then you probably dream possible.

For me, the morning I created today was petting 2 furry, purring cats, lighting a gorgeous candle that sits next to the programming desk, and celebrating 3 Beethoven Piano Sonatas on the stereo.....THAT was the world I created....I WILLED my world to be this way.  I was in a situation (it happens  more often for you than you think) to SHAPE AND FORM MY WORLD...Yes, in some objective sense Presidents and armies and wars and tyrants do exist...But it is entirely MY DECISION whether I WILL BE having them or their statements in my life.

I hope I am communicating this concept in a way worthy of it.

In short, there is an EXTERNAL world which, to a greater or lesser extent, our Will can control.

There is an INTERNAL world which, to an absolute degree, our Will does control.

And then, in those cases where we find ourselves in unpleasant times, or any general situation where the force of our will does NOT have the power to change the external environment, then we are back to the previous section, where we DO control our reactions.

The Name, connecting through Faith, which if we had even a drop would move mountains....As I've said before, it's all connected.

An exercise?  Simply find something around you that you wish (and have the moral authority) to change.  Change it, and as you do so, meditate of the fact that this is God's Name In Action!!!!!!!!!!

I find this so exciting!!!!!.....But you see, I live alone......and there are so few who understand......So for me, Self-Control means determining that I will not, cannot, let my "aloneness" lead me to "depression."

I must live the realities I speak, or they have no value.

Decisions are an explanation and manifestation of God's Name.  

Practical enough for you?

I hope so.

Work on it.

#3: Society

These words will be few.

But I'm not certain they could be important.

The principal we have been exploring, I + Will = Being, we first saw as an indication you are not running your own life.

Then, we saw that I + Will = Being means that you can, in reality, have your life as you choose it.

The present thought is simply this:

There are 6 Billion people on this earth.  Can you even begin to imagine how exciting it would be if they all lived with God's Name radiating in their hearts, and bore the loving, peaceful, joyous fruit of the Spirit?

Such a world is what we will call The Kingdom of God.

Whether or not it actually ever happens, it is worth (at least for me) spending the rest of my life working for.

#4: The Whole Problem

I will be writing much more about this later.

But it all boils down to this.

The center of the entire problem, socially speaking, can be found it Proverbs 29:18:

The King James Version: Where there is no vision, the people perish.

What we cannot conceive, we cannot achieve.  A cliché, but true.

People cannot even conceive of a better life, so how can they ever live it?

What we try to do, religiously, is give people a glimpse of what is possible....that they might be able to catch a glimmer of hope.

Lots to think about there...

It may not look like it, in this world of sin and confusion......

But God IS Present....not far off, that someone needs to travel far to get Him...But NEAR, right here.

I know it's hard.  Trust me.  I really do know.

So I don't want you spending too much precious time looking for the "BIG SIGNS AND WONDERS......."

Try to slow your soul down just a little bit, and notice the glories that are already here...YHWH figures we really don't need the "big" signs and wonders these days because He's literally STUFFED the universe with smaller ones...to remind us of His presence, His love, the fundamental beauty of existence itself.

The truth is....go ahead, call me crazy, I care not....When cats purr they purr both when they inhale AND exhale.  And when my 2 fuzz-ball friends purr, I hear them saying "Yah-Weh....Yah-Weh...." over and over.  That's what I hear....It means "I Love You Daddy, thank you for petting me, and I am very glad to be a big fuzzy cat."

A little reminder. yes?

They are all around you......Just like when we talked about YHWH waiting until Moses turned aside to look at the Burning Bush...The Bush and the Glories and the BURN of Ecstasy are ALWAYS PRESENT.

You WILL have a blessed day, if you WILL it.

#5: I Am Not A Victim

In a totally different context, I have written about victimization before.

My son is a very talented rock guitarist, composer and vocalist.  In a week his band has a very important audition for a very large record company, and they have been asked to go on tour with an important, multi-million seller-MTV-Video band.

The whole thing.

5 days ago some low-life cut through all the locks and stole most of the equipment from their rehearsal studio.

And another thing you must know....Unless you are not in the music industry you would have no reason to know that things are "not like they used to be."  Modern professional rock groups are dealing with some serious technology, and their performances are complex combinations of live and computer-synchronized pre-programmed support.  So the loss of this equipment was not just a matter of going out and buying a new piano....it's about 20 times more complex than that....Even once you can find replacements for these high-tech marvels (not as easy as it sounds since technology changes so quickly), they still have to be re-programmed, tested, practiced with, and so on.

And the record company WILL be there Feb 5...postponements do NOT happen in this industry, because there are so many other groups ready to take your place.

Now....I Will Be What I Will Be.  That's the whole thing, right?

A "lesser" person, faced with such (apparently insurmountable) circumstances, could understandably say, "Forget it.  We're done.  That's it."

But not John.

Oh no.

Determination....strength....I WILL BE SUCCESSFUL......

So, we had a fast fund raiser, most of the equipment has been replaced, and they are working very hard.

And his attitude?  "F*** 'em.  This is just going to make our set harder, tougher, leaner and meaner....we're going out there to Conquer!!"

Now, frankly, I think parents take WAY too much credit and blame for their kids...still and all, I could not possibly be more proud. 

He WILLS to be tough....He has WILLED to transform this experience into an opportunity for even greater success, not a cause to lay around feeling sorry for himself.

I + Will = Being.

So for those of you who might be reading this, still unconvinced that this God-Name stuff has any value or practical application, I recommend you not suggest anything like that to a certain up and coming L.A. rock band.....You might just get trampled on their way to success.

#6: The Superbowl

Fun.

Real fun.

22 guys get together to bang the hell out of each other...Governors make bets...People pay $5,000 for a seat...

The government and Hollywood want us to believe that children who watch TV 6 hours a day are not effected at all.

Yet corporations are willing to pay $2,100,000 to control this medium for just 30 seconds....because the ability to control this medium for even 30 seconds can, and will, transform SOCIAL CONSCIOUSNESS........Between the bets and parties and all, I have heard the total economic impact of the Superbowl world-wide (don't forget it's broadcast to 75 countries and will be watched by nearly 1/3 out of the entire planet) to be estimated at $40,000,000,000.  That's 40 Billion dollars, world-wide.

And the free press, what about that?....where's the commentary and outrage?...Well, if you think you live in a country with a free press, you are wrong.  In America, NBC, for example, is OWNED by General Electric.  NBC is General Electric's front-line PR representative, nothing more nor less.  75% of all media outlets are owned by (literally) a handful of companies...Do you think, for even a moment, they will let their "news" shows threaten their profits?  And in much of the world it is even worse....Governments own the press.

In short, I Will Be What I Will Be works, even in domains where we (some of us) would prefer it didn't....The System Protects the System, and seeks to maintain and preserve it.

Practical Application?

Just imagine the planet and its people as excited about God, His Name, and Kingdom.

If we could by some miracle, and yes, it will take a miracle, get people to care even 1% as much about God, His Name, and His Kingdom, and "work the system" (not just read it, but live their lives that way) the momentum would be sufficient to probably lead to an elimination of suffering on the planet.

I have a fantasy where......well....I am the Superbowl....and have the attention of the world......with the opportunity to lay it all out for the world...The Name, why it matters, practical applications.....for all that time...

Oh well....Some dream of running 20 yards with a football....I dream of changing the world.

YHWH will provide the money we need, when we need it.  (That's called FAITH, the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.) No one involved with this ministry is starving, and we are feeding children around the world.  We have no debts.  We are, I must proclaim, a textbook example of fiscal responsibility.

But with the funds....I WOULD take the opportunity....Heck, I'd be happy to buy commercials and get the Budweiser gecko (chameleon?  whatever it is?!?) to CHANT THE NAME!!!!!!!!  "Changed my life Ernie, ought to try it!"

THAT would get their attention.

Of course, I Will Be What I Want to Be....I have found (especially during the last week) that people would rather hold onto their own pain and twisted psychosis than actually be healed.

It's sad, but true.  People are almost always more comfortable with the misery they know than the promised ecstasy that might take a little effort to inherit.

It astounds me, individually and globally........And if you want a Bible connection (I'm constantly challenged that I cannot back any of this up Biblically, which is only proof of the utter ignorance of the challenger) just look at the Hebrews after they had been freed from hundreds of years of slavery...the bitching, moaning and complaining, actually begging Moses to take them back to Egypt, where at least their leek and onion stew was fresh.

So, in his wisdom, YHWH decided that generation would NOT enter the promised land...Their children (who still had some hope and faith) were allowed to enter the promised land of flowing milk and honey.  Sometimes systems (and people) become so polluted they cannot be redeemed.  Sad, but again true.

Ravens, Giants......And as I talk to the "crew" (the team of people I know on a weekly basis) I have not found one single person who actually cares about either team.

But Media says it's the 3rd most important thing we do, behind paying taxes and voting.

So we obey.

All Hail.

#7: Vision

The following 3 statements may appear to be different, but they actually all say the same thing.

1) SELF-FULFILLING PROPHESY

A forecast (see prediction) which, by the very fact that it is stated, has the effect of bringing about what it claims and thereby making it more "true" than it would have been without publication. The implicit self-reference includes the acts of individuals who believe in the truth of the prophesy and are capable of either influencing or interpreting the course of events in the prophecy's domain. The self-referential loop is rarely cognized by the believer. Besides many religious examples, such as miraculous healings, many phenomena, such as ethnic prejudices, teacher's evaluation of student's capabilities, etc. are largely self-fulfilling in this sense (see self-fulfilling hypothesis). 2) Proverbs 29:18

3) Sri Aurobindo

A Hindu philosopher said, "It is impossible to live immortally outside of a society of immortals."

Now.....

We have, to this point, barely begun to touch on what it means to  live with The Mind of Christ within you...Barely begun to conceive of what it means to live in the Fullness of YHWH....Hardly started to describe a life full of God-Consciousness.

But I know we're losing people...And the "radical", wild, really challenging stuff we haven't gone anywhere near.

What's going on?

We (the human race) have done many, many studies about human behavior alone and in groups, and their differences...People will do things in groups that they could never imagine when they are alone, and vice versa...Mob psychology, riots....Well, there's thousands of pages that have been written and hundreds of studies that have been done.

What's the point?

Jesus said many things, but one of the simplest, that summarizes his entire ministry and teaching is, "Seek ye first the Kingdom of YHWH, and His righteousness."

First and foremost.  Before taxes, money, food, sleeping, anything.

Do you know anyone, have you ever met anyone, who actually lives that way?

Community....Vision....It has been proven repeatedly that it is impossible for people to rise above their expectations.  That's why VISION, of WHAT IS POSSIBLE, is SO ESSENTIAL.  If we can gain that vision from society as a whole, WONDERFUL!  But that is not happening now, nor is it likely in our lifetimes.  So, absent society's granting us a Vision of The Divine Life, we must do EVERYTHING WE CAN to get that vision and share it OURSELVES.  

In other words...

IS POSSIBLE.  You may not believe that, but it is true.

But unless you catch a glimpse of it, have a VISION, then it is impossible for you.  All you will know is, at best, that if you say the right magic words, then you will go to the good place when you die...You will not even have a GUESS of the incomprehensible greatness of the inheritance awaiting you, here and now.

Society won't tell you.

Your parents probably didn't.  Because they didn't know.

The so-called church certainly isn't doing a very good job of it.

So do we quit?  Give-up?

No.  

So, what are we doing here?  Exactly 2 things:

1) A "Practical Application" of this site, church, whatever you want to call it, is that it PROVIDES A VISION OF THE LIFE DIVINE.  Getting the vision, the IDEA, is the first essential step towards making it happen.

2) Helping to create a community of people who are dedicated to seeking First the Kingdom...I don't really know how the web or these efforts will be able to lead to that, but I have some ideas.

Every now and then you see this graphic:

It all, "it" meaning everything, your life, society, everything, all starts with an expectation.

Expectation = Will = Self-Fulfilling Prophesy = Vision.

If we can get enough people together, bodily or "virtually", then we start to create the Community, the REAL Body of Christ, where YHWH lives.

So, with the smallest number of words I can use, the "Practical Application" I offer you is:

Change your expectations, and you will change your life.

I + Will = Being.

#8: Things We Do With Names

I've been thinking a lot lately about all the things we do with names.

Here's my present list....If you can add substantively to it, PLEASE email me.  This stuff is important to me.

Practical application?

I've written about this a lot...a briefer list can be found in God is Not God's Name.  

Names are SO IMPORTANT...you could make a case that they are the basis of our entire social order.

And yet, the overwhelming majority of humanity does not know God's Name...those who know don't care...The Bible translators refuse to even PUT THE NAME IN THE BIBLE!!!!!!

The practical application is actually so simple, so straight-forward, and yet so overwhelmingly powerful:

But I will leave that exercise to you, should you care.  Call it homework.

#9: Get to Work!

Just Entertainment?

I used to teach a regular, face-to-face Bible study, every Sunday.  I remember the day and the reason I quit.

I had been "working" with one, single group of people for nearly 2 years...They were all regulars...And one day I asked them a question, something I had covered AT LEAST 20 times (and that is NOT an exaggeration), and not one single person could give me the right answer.

And suddenly I realized the lie we were living, and the game we had been playing...This was not Bible Study, this was not Christian education in any remote sense of but word....No.  What was really, actually happening, was that I was providing an hour of free entertainment each week.  Retention was practically 0.  And, not being in the mood to participate in that, I quit.

The Pastor With One Sermon

This is a true story, though I can no longer recall the names or location.

There was this church, you see...And it had a lot of back-biting, and gossip, and all-around ill-will between different groups in the church.

So the Pastor gave a sermon, about the sin of gossip, and brotherhood, and working together, and forgiveness and love.

He gave the same sermon the next week.  And the week after that.  Oh, he'd change some of the examples, and it's not like he was reading anything word-for-word, but still, for weeks, he preached this one and only sermon.  After about a month the board of directors called a meeting and wanted to know when the Pastor was going to stop preaching this same sermon.

"When people start living it," was his only answer.

The Information Age

There are times when I think seriously about stopping these Pictures of God.

We are SOOO overwhelmed with SOOO many options....SOOOO much information...and when my little thought for the day isn't posted, heck, there's hundreds of other sites more than happy to fill the so-called gap.

And it is just so easy for Life-Changing God-Consciousness to get lost in the shuffle, and appear to be just one more sweet, cute little idea among the multitude.

I know people read these.....And they also let me know that if I skip a day or a few, oh well, they just go to so & so & such & such....NOT that there's anything wrong with that......

But it has seemed to me lately, thru emails and direct contact, that many people are LOOKING FOR SOMETHING THEY THINK THEY DON'T HAVE....Like chickens scratching in the dirt for corn, while the barn is STUFFED FULL OF IT!!!!!!

So Why Do I Do This?

I + Will = Being.

I know, actually, factually, statistically, that this is NOT just one more voice among millions.  But what I must do is stay focused, and WORK THE SYSTEM...Feed and water the Fruit of the Spirit that lives in me, and let The Mind of YHWH that lives in me continue to grow, that I might be filled to the fullness of God.

But it takes work.

Effort.

Focus.

How many people, or even whether or not any people at all "get it", is immaterial...It is not something I can control.  All I can focus on, and what I must focus on, is YHWH, and WORKING THE SYSTEM.

Work The System

What does that phrase mean?

Simply put, we, you and I, must heed the powerfully life-changing words of Jesus:

Don't only be hearers of the Word, but DOERS!

You really don't need to read or learn anything else your entire life.  You only need to apply what you already know!!  

There is, in fact, nothing new or revolutionary about one single word in this entire web site.  True, we've tried to restore some things that have been lost (like God having a Name), and clarify some things that have gotten confused (like the real importance of following Christ instead of "worshipping" Him), but there is certainly nothing new here.

And nothing else that needs to be said.  Everything we NEED has been provided for us:

2 Peter 1:3 His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness
through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.

So, that's it.  

We do, indeed, have the Mind and Heart of Infinite YHWH living right here, right NOW, right with us.

We don't NEED anything else, except to DAILY APPLY OURSELVES TO WHAT WE ALREADY KNOW.

"Work The System."  To live a life of love, forgiveness, die to self, etc. etc. etc. etc........All the things we've heard & sung & read & written so many times in our lives.

You know, you already do know, what YHWH wants from you....Wants FOR you....

All that's lacking is to make the Divine Life a HIGHER PRIORITY.  It's just what Jesus said:

Seek First (and foremost) the Kingdom of YHWH, and for His Righteousness, and everything else will be added.

And 2 Peter 1:3 has made it plain that you already do have that Kingdom & Righteousness RIGHT HERE!!

It's just a matter of focus.

My dear reader, you can suffer for as long as you want....Even God Himself won't stop you, because He's given you an all-powerful, sacred, Divine WILL, that He will never steal from you.

But that suffering is needless...Completely, absolutely needless.

Strange as it sounds, it's just your odd form of entertainment.
